Portugal, officially the Portuguese Republic (Portuguese: República Portuguesa [ʁɛˈpuβlikɐ puɾtuˈɣezɐ]),[note 4] is a country whose mainland is located on the Iberian Peninsula of Southwestern Europe, and whose territory also includes the Atlantic archipelagos of the Azores and Madeira. It features the westernmost point in continental Europe, and its Iberian portion is bordered to the west and south by the Atlantic Ocean and to the north and east by Spain, the sole country to have a land border with Portugal. Its two archipelagos form two autonomous regions with their own regional governments. Lisbon is the capital and largest city.

In Portugal the authorities decided to tax Crypto with IVA (VAT) by form number 14910 and form number 5717. As it has been decided, Cryptocurrencies are not in fact considered real existing currencies, they are considered online assets and their price is based on supply and demand. Currently those who seldom have income from cryptocurrencies derived from investment don’t have to declare those to the Portuguese IRS. On the other hand if you trade crypto regularly you’d need to issue an invoice or a receipt upon buying and selling and declare those to the IRS. About the Portuguese IRC, you’d need to record it in your income total and it will be calculated as a taxable income.
